We recognise that the nature of global trade is changing. Companies source products through increasingly complex global value chains and production networks. The ‘Global Production and Local Outcomes’ research project aims to better understand how globalisation impacts local contexts. We think this agenda is imperative, as companies, consumers, civil society and governments become more concerned with environmental and social issues in supply chains. Governance actors and institutions face challenges adapting to this changing global environment.
A key question is, how can governance strategies be more effective in ensuring positive local outcomes from global production?
